On Page SEO Tutorial 2019 – Stop Making SEO So Complicated (Proof)

[WPXperVideo id=17 ]all right what’s going on everyone it is Greg here from oMG machines and today I’m gonna prove to you that you’re probably over complicating your on-page SEO now I have no idea why but for some reason there’s this myth in the SEO community that you need to do like 50 different things and your on-page SEO to rank a site not true ok they say like you need your schema and your optimized images and you need 10,000 words and you need 50 pages the ad that more content blah blah blah there’s so many myths going around what I want to do today is break it down that you just four things you need for on-page SEO and then I want to do what all those myth creators don’t do I want to prove it to you ok so I’m gonna break down the four things you need and I’m going to show you a site that breaks all their rules that they say you need yeah that’s still ranking number one why because it follows my four rules of on-page SEO all right so it’s time to simplify your own page SEO let’s jump right into it all right so let’s get right into these four magic rules for on-page SEO now they’re so simple that people probably aren’t gonna believe me but remember I’m gonna prove it to you I’m going to show you a super ugly site that’s ranked and it just follows these four things it doesn’t even follow them that well just it follows the main ones that very well but let’s get into it number one is have your keyword in domain domain or URL okay so I can actually just say domain URL that’s rule number one get your keyword in your domain or your URL now this is a totally different video for a different topic but EMD still work very well okay people some people think they don’t but they have their place you have to know when to use them if you can get a keyword in the domain or if you have a keyword in’ in to mean it’s the most important ranking factor for on-page SEO if you can’t get it in the domain get it in the inner URL and I’ll show you more examples of this once I show you the the live site the proof site I’ll kind of break this down even further but that’s rule number one get the keyword in the domain or in the inner URL if you can’t get it in the domain okay number two is get your keywords in your title I don’t know why people don’t put their keywords in their title but that’s the most important on-page rule number three keywords in each tags alright and lastly put your keywords in your content now this is where a lot of people mess up because they try to like find some magic formula for how what their keyword density should be for their content when it comes to putting keywords in your content you want to under do it if anything so just have it in there a couple times and it depends on how long your content is but you know if you of a thousand words put it in a few times you know if you only have 100 words just put in once that’s it you know if you only have 500 words put in once or twice under do it if anything because content is the smallest on-page factor out of these four things this one is by far number one what least domain is and then URL if you haven’t an inter URL title those are pretty close but these three right here are take the majority of the on-page of these four rules you know this takes up a little more than content a little better going to content but it’s nowhere near as big as these top two as long as you get these top two right you should be fine as long as you’re decent with these right here okay and I’ll prove that to use well with our live thing now content again the reason so many people mess this up because they don’t realize how unimportant content is now they try to put like some magic keyword density in there when really these up here are way more important than this year especially these two again so when it comes to your content just make sure you get your keywords in there you’re targeting at least once and you’ll be fine even if you have 2,000 words and you only have your york on your keyword in there once that’s fine as long as you have it here and here and you mix it in your H tags if you just have it once in your content you’ll be fine you’ll rank as long as you get your linking right as well okay so let’s go take a look at this example so that’s good look at the proof and then we’re gonna break all this down all right so let’s go and start the proof today the proof site is going to be a site that I ranked a couple years ago for Tennessee SEO alright well first of all we have the top three spots we have number one number two with the video number three with this site all of these sites are just tests legislates I kind of mess around without even put any effort into them yet you see with our top-ranked site here are examples so we even have authority listings down here you know they like our site so much that we have Authority listings yet when we go to the site you’re gonna see that it breaks most of the on-page rules ok so let’s go ahead and take a look at it and also notice the title still says 2016 which I’m sure doesn’t help the click-through rate but what do you notice when you go here this site is freaking ugly right it is very ugly there’s only a few pages on it this content if you read it it is not good ok without rather there’s no schema ok there’s no mep there’s no name address phone number there’s no contact information at all so people come to this site and there’s no way to even contact me there’s no email there’s no contact page there’s no there’s no nothing all right so you know what people do they come to this site and they leave the bounce rate is extremely high because there’s nothing to do and the contents out so then once starts reading this content they’re like alright I’m out of here yes this is the site sucks so I’ve pretty much broking every on-page rule did I even I didn’t optimize my images let’s see what the the image is um I don’t I don’t worry about that it’s inspected and whatever you can see right here when I hover over in the bottom left corner it’s like SEO – and a bunch of numbers so I didn’t optimize it this one here is like office like gee like I don’t even optimize it ok so as you can see from this site this lights been ranking number one for years now yet it breaks every on-page SEO for all of us out there and I have many examples like this that I show my students I’m just gonna show you this one publicly see so you can know that I know what I’m talking about here what do you notice about this site it has keywords in the two most important places okay it has it in the domain which is number one by four and then it has it in the title ok and I actually didn’t do too good with the H tags for this I do have SEO but I don’t have Tennessee SEO at all or SEO Tennessee type stuff in my H tags alright do have Nashville SEO a couple times just cuz I’ll doing some testing with it but even like the H ties you don’t have to get perfect it’s more about the domain and title or de Mon or inner URL and title as well okay these I still have my main category in my each tags so that’s helping and then you’ll see in my content I have Tennessee SEO it looks like five times well one two three four four times I don’t know where the fifth one is it’s not highlighting but I have it four times there which actually this site was done a couple years ago so I don’t even do it that much anymore if I were to do this site again I probably put it in there once twice maybe three times at most and that would be it okay so as you can see all I did for this on page was follow those four rules and really the the the H tags and content I didn’t even do that well with what contents okay four times is okay H tags I could have done better with but it’s not nearly as important as these two which is why I’m able to rank since it’s not you want to make sure you get these two right whoops let’s undo that you want to make sure you get these two right first and foremost and then these follow up all right so let’s break this down a little more okay let’s go let me get a new page here let me make this a little smaller alright so the main URL when it comes to domain you knit again this is a different topic for a different day but if you can get your keywords in your domain you want to now you you have to have to know how to do competition and analyzing or you know how to gauge competition because you don’t just want to go out and get an EMD for everything because it’s not plausible you know there are certain niches where they want Authority sites ranking and although an EMD will help you the the juice is not going to be worth the squeeze for you so if you go out getting indy try to rank for best hair products that is going to be littered with super-high domain authority sites and in order for the rank for that your I need like thousands of domains it’s not worth having an exact match demand for a term like that Tennessee SEO is much different because there’s not it’s not littered by super high authority sites so this is the type of niche where you can use an exact match demain okay so always make sure you gauge competition and know if it’s a type of niche that you can use an EMV for or if it’s worth using an EMV for all right because AMD’s always work they always give you the biggest on-page edge but sometimes there’s some niches where you need to back it up with a lot of authority with your linking okay and it just isn’t worth it for an EMV and it would be more worth it to create an authority site okay so that’s when it comes down to for domain URL a lot of times local sites you know when you’re working with clients and stuff like that having keywords in domain even it’s not an exact match domain is huge for local because a lot of times local isn’t littered with high domain Authority sites again if you can’t get it in the domain you just have like you know Greg’s site comm try to get your keyword in the inner URL and that would just be like this keyword here okay or will use Tennessee SEO for this example Tennessee – SEO okay so that would be enter URL if you can’t get it in the domain like you already have a site for example that started and you’ve already done you know you’re already in the process starting site you just want to add a new keyword put it in the inner URL just like this alright next to the title now for the title sometimes I’ll repeat the the domain keyword in the title then sometimes I’ll use an LSI version so what I mean for that is like if I have Tennessee SEO com sometimes I will do Tennessee SEO again in the title like this because that’s kind of like the name of my brain and then whatever here whatever here second for the title but sometimes for certain like affiliate type sites what I’ll do is I’ll put LSI in the title so I’ll do like SEO in Tennessee okay so set a Tennessee SEO exactly let’s actually use our real site here so you can see SEO com instead of you know having our exact keyword again maybe I’ll put an L si version now if I do that or not just depends on you know the type of site it is usually an EMD if it’s an exact domain then I’ll repeat the word exactly as you see I did with this site because that’s kind of like the name of my website that’s like my brand name so to speak but there is times where you know if I have a keyword here especially when I’m an enter URL so a lot of times when I have like greg site calm and i just have like an inner URL for tennessee SEO then i’ll rial kind of use an LSI here SEO in Tennessee and then whatever whatever here okay you know those are search engine optimization company but for whatever here you want to add other keywords you’re trying to rank for you want to get as many keywords in your title as you can you’re trying to rank for because it’s really gonna do a lot for you all right so if I’m trying to also write for like you know company for let’s say like search engine optimization company I’ll say like you know the number one search engine optimization company and then that’s gonna help me write for this version of SEO better it’s gonna help you rank for anything with company and it better so that it’s gonna help me rank for SEO Tennessee SEO company better Tennessee search engine optimization company all that stuff is gonna help me rank better for even LS size of company it’s gonna help me rank better for it’s gonna help you rank better for firm and stuff along those lines all right so always make the most your titles and get as many keywords in there as you can don’t worry a ton about if you create LSI in here or not because you can always do that in the next thing which is your AIT’s tags okay so for this specific example let’s go back to Tennessee SEO calm seas a real example so now let’s go to our h1 tag in this specific example I put Nashville SEO in my H tag let’s go here and look here it is right here I put Nashville SEO that was just as outgoing some testing stuff usually what I would do is since I have Tennessee SEO here and also Tennessee SEO here I’m not gonna repeat it here at the most I’m gonna do SEO in Tennessee but I’ll usually even do something like Tennessee search engine optimization or something along those lines okay so my next thing here would either be SEO in Tennessee something along those lines or something like search engine optimization in Tennessee all right so my point is I’m using LSI which is basically like synonyms LSI is like a different way to say your main keyword all right and then in my other H ties which usually h2 or h3 tags I’ll do a mix you know it depends on how big the site is sometimes I’ll repeat my exact keyword again you know Tennessee SEO I don’t know results maybe I’ll do it like another word and then next time I’ll just do like a general topic with no keywords and maybe general again no keywords people I’m so like pay-per-click or social media stuff like that and then maybe I do you know SEO tips and I do this a lot where I’ll take the main niche of the keyword I’m targeting and put it in an H tag and I did do this with this so I did it here kinda so even though Nationals out I’m still mentioning the main niche without my other keyword in there and I also kind of did it here okay but you can see like I have general kind of H tags here I don’t know if these are H tags these might even be bold tags I may not even use H tags remember that these two are not as big of a deal just don’t overdo either of them especially your content okay so that’s the rules for the H tags and then when it comes to content just make sure you have your keyword at least one time but do not overdo it okay so do not like going up to a site that has this many words in it and put your keyword in there like 15 times all that’s gonna do is hurt you okay because you already have it in the most important places domain title H tags there’s no reason to put it more really than like once or twice in this I put it in four or five it’s just because this site to order and I with these rules you know like a year year and a half ago alright so that should be yet for the on-page rules hopefully this helps you simplify
